The educational process for full-time and distance learning is carried out as usual. Work has begun on the schedule of final exams for masters in January 2024.
A meeting was held with the leadership of the Kyiv Municipal Guard to discuss further training of Kyiv Polytechnicians under the National Resistance program.
Work is underway to prepare the final of the All-Ukrainian competition of student works on artificial intelligence, and its program is being developed.
Between November 6 and 10, 46 students were expelled from the university, 15 of whom were studying at the expense of individuals.
On November 6, at the opening of the Assemble Research Compete (ARC) Engineering Competition, projects and opportunities of Kyiv Polytechnic were presented.
An online working meeting was held with representatives of the University of Applied Sciences Gamma Lippstadt on the implementation of the IEE project within the framework of the Erasmus+ program in 2023.
Last week, the main part of the online examination of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute's educational programs was completed. In total, during October - November, the university hosted 18 expert groups for 34 educational and professional master's programs.
KPI took part in a workshop organized by the Alliance of European Universities CESAER. Agreements were reached on joint submission of a project application to one of the Erasmus + projects in 2024; the issue of academic mobility of students and teachers was considered.
This month, two specialties - Law and Public Administration - are entering the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE). At the request of the Ministry of Education and Science, 40 students from Kharkiv Law Academy and 12 students from Kherson Technical University will take part in the USQE.
The configuration of the cloud disk in the disk storage with a capacity of 240 terabytes has been completed. This is an analog of Google Drive that will work for the university's needs and serve as a storage for video materials.
Huawei Ukraine provided the university with another hosting server.
The KPI team won in the individual and team competitions at the Kyiv Student Chess Championship.
On November 29-30, it is planned to hold an open chess tournament dedicated to the 125th anniversary of KPI with the participation of representatives of other universities. It is proposed to hold the student chess championship of Ukraine on the basis of KPI in March - April next year.
👍Scientific activity
A working meeting on the implementation of the PolyITAN-12U project was held at the Storm Design Bureau, which confirmed the fulfillment of the KPI work schedule.
A meeting was held with the participation of the rector and the leadership of individual departments on key Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute projects that need to be scaled up.
At the request of the State Special Communications Service administration, a response was prepared and sent regarding Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute's research capabilities in the field of critical infrastructure protection.
Five patents for utility models were obtained (FEL, HTF, FBT-2, and NN VPI).
👍 International activities
Proposals for the development of cooperation with the University of Zurich (Swiss Confederation) were prepared and sent.
In November, the NATO Science for Peace and Security Program competitions are expected to be announced, so the heads of 52 scientific schools and 4 departments have been instructed to prepare project proposals.
Until the end of November, online training for a team of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute students, graduate students, and teachers will continue, as well as a competition under the Startup Breakthrough 2023 project, initiated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of the Economic Support for Ukraine project.
CESAER will provide the university with humanitarian assistance for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute delegations to attend Alliance events in 2024.
👍 Improvement of the campus
The work on the smart shelter in the STB is scheduled to be completed within 10 days. Also, the work on the arrangement of a shelter in dormitory No. 4 is nearing completion, so the university will have another 500 beds.
The number of indestructibility points has been increased - there are now more of them both on campus and in academic buildings. The university received protective masks for students, teachers and staff.
The Kyivzelenbud commission has inspected all green spaces on the university's territory - an act is expected according to which trees will be crowned and hazardous trees will be demolished.
The heating network in KPI has been launched. The heating of academic buildings #24 and #27 has begun. These days, other buildings will start heating as well.
Last week, for the first time, the university provided a full cycle of solid waste removal by its own forces and its own transport. We are finalizing the Procedure for organizing waste removal. Responsible persons are being identified and their job descriptions are being amended.
The placement of information signs for people with disabilities on educational buildings is almost complete.
At a meeting of the Fund for Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kyiv Polytechnic decided to support applications from university employees who are currently defending Ukraine and its units.
The shelter in the 7th dormitory has been repaired, and the repair of the shelter in the 4th dormitory is in progress. Repairs of the emergency exit in dormitory 10, bathrooms and floors in dormitory 14 have begun.
All garbage containers on campus have been replaced.
