A full-scale war, unleashed against Ukraine by the russian federation, has been going on for six months. Since the first hours of russian aggression, our compatriots have fought the enemy for independence and freedom, for our native land  courageously and selflessly. Our Motherland is also protected by many Kyiv polytechnicians who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Territorial Defense, voluntary formations, and the volunteer community.

The war has already claimed the lives of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, and hundreds of cities and villages have been completely destroyed. The whole world is talking about the crimes of the russian occupiers. Unfortunately, the team of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was not immune to losses. As of today, the editors know the names and surnames of thirteen polytechnic graduates, employees and students who died in the war with the rashists since February 24, 2022:

Dmytro Arsenovych (16.08.1993 – 26.02.2022) was a student of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automatics. Awarded the War Veteran badge.

Volodymyr Kovalsky (September 24, 1983 – February 27, 2022) graduated from the Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering in 2007.

Yevhen Petrash (March 20, 1994 – March 3, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Law in 2017. Awarded the medal "For the defense of Mariupol", the Defender of the Motherland medal, and the Decorations of the President of Ukraine for Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

Artem Klymov (January 14, 1996 – March 4, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Law in 2018. He was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree (posthumously), and the Cossack Cross II degree.

Maxim Levin (July 7, 1981 – March 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Heat and Power Engineering in 2004. Documentary photographer and photojournalist. Awarded the Order of Courage III degree (posthumously).

Oleksandra Anikyeva (08/01/2002 – 05/05/2022) was a student of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Publishing and Printing.

Oleksandr Antoniuk (October 2, 1997 – March 16, 2022) was a student of the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automatics.

Volodymyr Gerasym (March 23, 1995 – July 12, 2022) graduated from the Educational and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering in 2018.

Vitaliy Topikha (October 16, 1995 – June 12, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Electronics in 2019.

Oleh Zadorozhny (February 11, 1968 – May 30, 2022) was an employee of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering.

Roman Lytvyniuk (January 6, 1972 – May 5, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Heat and Power Engineering in 1995.

Volodymyr Knyazev (July 6, 1982 – May 9, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Law in 2005.

Anatoliy Potaychuk (June 20, 1982 – June 27, 2022) graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Technology in 2008.
