On the eve of the beginning of the new academic year, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has launched its own university television studio. It will work in the historical building №1. From now on, polytechnics have a platform for interviews with interesting personalities, discussing the most pressing issues, experimenting with broadcast formats and implementing video projects. The viewers will be able to watch live broadcasts with guests and university professors, new study programs, and first-hand information about university life.
The guest of the first program, which was broadcast from the studio on the day of its opening on August 31, was the rector of the university, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky. He spoke about the peculiarities of the educational process during the war, the results of this year's admission campaign, the results of the year that ended, the organization of research at KPI, the problems that the university faced for the first time since World War II and how they are being overcome, and much more. Also, the guests of the studio were volunteers who took an active part in organizing and ensuring the "great relocation", that is, the movement of students from those dormitories that are not equipped with shelters to those that have everything necessary to guarantee the safety of residents. This program can be viewed in a recording on the university website.
The first broadcast was hosted by university students Daria Fisun (FL) and Ivan Zagorulko (FEL). By the way, it is the students who will continue to host the programs. A casting call was announced for the positions of hosts, and there were unexpectedly many people at the university who wanted to try their hand at it. And these are not only students who study at the Educational and Research Publishing and Printing Institute majoring in Journalism, but also those who receive higher education at the Institute of MMI, Institute of IEE, Institute of IAT and other institutes and faculties of KPI. Of course, everyone who will communicate with guests at the studio table will be trained beforehand. The press service is staffed by people who have more than one year of experience working for central TV channels, such as ICTV, Channel 5, 1+1, STB, and Kyiv TV channel, so they have a lot to share with their future colleagues.
The studio has a stylish and modern design. As the press service told our newspaper, they developed it on their own, because the services of modern design companies are not cheap, especially for a budgetary institution like the university. That's why the press service employees themselves, together with the students, drew sketches, changed and supplemented the studio design options. They even designed and painted the design table themselves! And the studio was painted in the corporate blue and white colors of the university, plastered, laid new electrical wiring, welded and mounted trusses for lighting equipment by employees of KPI's economic departments.
The studio has two zones, but if necessary, their number can be increased to three. However, on the opening day, only one of them was in use - it was completely ready. The other two are still under development. It is planned to announce a competition among students for the best design. The main requirement is that it should be comfortable for students, stylish and youthful.
Of course, the new studio will be used not only for recording and broadcasting programs prepared by KPI Media, but also for classes and practice for students studying journalism or other faculties whose graduates can work in television.
Live broadcasts from the new studio will be held regularly. They will be broadcast on the university's website and on all official KPI Internet resources.
So, KPI entered the new academic year with a new platform for creativity and realization of the most creative student ideas!
