Master's student of the Department of Heat Engineering and Energy Saving IEE Tetyana Boyko (group OT-01 mn) at the International competition of student research papers Black Sea Science 2022 received a diploma of the first degree for research work Influence of Heating and Ventilation Modes on the Energy Consumption of University Educational Buildings under Quarantine Conditions in Ukraine.

The study was conducted under academic supervision of the acting head of Department of TE, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Inna Yuriyivna Bilous, and Ph.D., Prof. Valeriy Ivanovych Deshko.

The work is dedicated to the timely challenges that humanity faced at the end of 2019 - the COVID-19 pandemic, which changed the lives of most people on Earth. These changes concerned, first of all, the usual modes of work - most organizations have introduced for their employees remote, or - semi-remote (i.e. when employees do not visit the workplace every day) modes of work. In her research, the graduate student conducted a series of dynamic simulating 3D-modeling of the energy state of the building for different modes of operation and different conditions of use of premises (by way of example of the educational building №17 of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute). The obtained results will allow us to evaluate the effect of the introduction of energy-saving and energy-efficient heating modes and to choose the optimal solutions for the local provision of comfortable working conditions in the working premises. The relevance and thoroughness of the research in the field of "Energy Engineering and Energy Efficiency" was highly praised by the competition committee, and the research works of Tetyana Boyko and a student from the Berlin Institute of Technology received first degree diplomas.

Currently, the student studies in the educational and scientific program "Energy Management and Engineering of Heat and Power Systems" (specialty 144 "Heat Power Engineering"), which trains specialists in the Department of Heat Engineering and Energy Saving of IEE. In 2020 Tetyana Boyko received her bachelor's degree with honors in Biotechnology and Engineering at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biotechnics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In addition, in 2021 she received a bachelor's degree with honors in management in a modular program developed for students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in International University of Finance.

Together with other active students she was involved in the research group of the department "Software complexes for modeling energy processes in buildings" (supervisor - I. Belous). The knowledge that Tatiana gained during her studies allowed her to get work at the Energy Efficiency Fund in the department of customer support and project monitoring.

Despite the extremely difficult situation in the country, Tetyana Boyko continues her research, although, like most residents of Kyiv region, she and her family were forced to leave their home and move to a safer part of Ukraine.

We wish her further success in scientific and professional activities!
