Dear Kyiv polytechnicians! On August 23, the people of Ukraine, as well as millions of our compatriots around the world, celebrate the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine. This holiday honors one of the most important symbols of our state, a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainians and their desire to be free.
On this day in 1991, the blue-and-yellow flag of Ukraine was solemnly brought to the Verkhovna Rada. Since then, it has become a symbol of the furious struggle of a strong, freedom-loving nation. Today, every Ukrainian feels a sense of personal responsibility and heart aflutter when they see the blue-and-yellow flag waving.
To make this possible, to make declaration of Ukraine's independence possible the next day, Ukrainians fought for the right to have their own sovereign, independent state with its own history, culture, own vision of its future, democratic values for many centuries.
Today, Ukrainians continue this struggle, paying with the lives of their best sons and daughters for the right to live in their own sovereign country. We thank the Armed Forces for defending and winning back every piece of our land, and we continue working for our joint victory.
Glory to Ukraine!
With kindest regards,
