Today, as every year on the third Saturday of May, we celebrate a special date for us - the Science Day.
This is a good opportunity to honor once again our outstanding predecessors who have changed the world with their achievements in science and engineering.
Today, Ukrainian scientific schools are against the backdrop of an extremely difficult challenge: many scientists are fighting at the front, in territory defense, volunteering or not yet able to return home. We have faced funding cuts and other problems caused by the war. But these difficulties are fleeting, and the global process of development of science for society is incessant.
Moreover, today the Ukrainian scientific community is needed by its country more than ever - to bring our victory closer and to rebuild a modern, progressive, successful Ukraine. The same task is a priority for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The war has shown how powerful we are when we unite for a common goal. Today, all of us - students, teachers, scientists - need to realize that our work is incredibly important, and to do our job continuously.
Independent Ukraine must stick to the course of development of a strong, competitive science of its own. For Kyiv polytechnicians, this has always been of higher value, much higher than laboratories and university buildings - something that cannot be destroyed. We know for sure that both Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Ukrainian science will face up to all challenges, because our cause is righteous.
Happy Science Day, dear friends, trusting in our victory!
