On January 25, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory (MAPT), Deputy Head of the Department, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (Ph.D.) Zoia Pavlivna Ordynska. Zoia Pavlivna Ordynska is a very devoted person because she has worked at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for more than five decades of her life. She enthusiastically prepared and conducted admission examinations in mathematics to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. She also was the Deputy Chairman of the Admission Commission in mathematics. Zoia Ordynska has been a Scientific Secretary of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics since its establishment in 1996. For many years she has a trade union member of the Department of MAPT and the University.
Zoia Ordynska was born into the family of a teacher, later Honored Teacher of Ukraine Pavlo Smolskyi. She has been interested in mathematics since childhood. After graduating from high school with a gold medal, she entered the mathematical department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of A. M. Gorky Kiev Pedagogical Institute (the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University).
She graduated from the institute in 1962, receiving a diploma with honors and the qualification of a teacher of mathematics, drawing, and astronomy. She went to work as a mathematics teacher in the Krasna Slobidka village, the Obukhiv Raion, as she was assigned. Then she taught at the Kyiv Evening School of Working Youth. Later she became an Assistant at the Department of Higher Mathematics of the Frunze Higher Combined-Arms Command School of Kyiv.
In October 1969, Zoia Ordynska joined the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute staff as an Assistant at the Department of Higher Mathematics. In 1973, she entered the postgraduate school of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the specialty “Differential Equations”. Her thesis advisor was an outstanding Ukrainian mathematician, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Anatoly Samoilenko. He later became the Director of the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and a Full Member of the NAS of Ukraine. In 1977, Zoia Ordynska received the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (Ph.D.), presenting a dissertation on “In-variant toroidal varieties of time-delay systems”. She returned to the Department of Higher Mathematics of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute as an assistant. Since 1981 Zoia Ordynska has been working as an Associate Professor.
Now Zoia Pavlivna brilliantly teaches higher mathematics, mathematical analysis, analytical geometry, methods of solving problems in higher mathematics at the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science and Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
She is the author of many scientific and methodical works and textbooks. Among the latter, it is worth mentioning “Distance course “Higher Mathematics” for students of economic specialties” released in 2013, “Higher Mathematics. Theory, examples, problems to solve: A guide for students of financial and economic profile” published in 2012. In 2018, Zoia Ordynska released “Mathematical analysis: Multiple, curvilinear and surface integrals. Field theory” and “Mathematical analysis: Differential calculus of functions of many variables”. A year later was written “Mathematical analysis: Differential equations”.
Zoia Ordynska has been rewarded Diplomas of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for high professionalism, many years of productive pedagogical and organizational work. In 2001 she got the Excellence in Education of Ukraine Badge. In 2002, she was awarded the Mayor's Certificate of Merit and a valuable gift.
Zoia Pavlivna enjoys deep respect among students and colleagues for perfect knowledge of the subjects she teaches, friendliness, diligence, and delicacy. She is always ready to help and does not spare her energy and time.
The staff of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory sincerely congratulates Zoia Pavlivna on her outstanding anniversary! We wish her good health, prosperity, long life, and a realization of plans for developing her favorite business.
