The purpose of the visit of representatives of Nokia Solutions and Networks Ukraine LLC, which took place on March 5, to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was to start cooperation for the introduction of 5G technology in Ukraine and to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation. The general director of the company Yevhen Balychev, the head of the sales department of the company Olena Hlogus, as well as the representative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation - the director of the directorate of digital infrastructure Yuriy Matsyk arrived at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
They were met by the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky, Director of the Institute of Telecommunication Systems (ITS) of the University, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Mykhailo Ilchenko, Deputy Director of ITS for Educational Work Iryna Kononova, Director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education Inna Malyukova, ITS student Karina Zhara and others.
The meeting began with a presentation "Nokia - the leader in the development of 5G technology in the world", which was made by Eugene Balychev. Yuriy Matsyk told about 5G Development Centres in Ukraine. "Dynamics and problems of 5G technology development in the world. Principles of the memorandum of cooperation "- this was the topic of Mykhailo Ilchenko's presentation. After an active discussion, the leaders of Nokia Solutions and Networks Ukraine LLC and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the provisions of which are aimed at improving the efficiency of technical education in the field of telecommunications and define the principles of creating the newest educational projects with students and teachers, as well as providing information support for such projects. Therefore, the cooperation will promote research, development of information activities and professional training of students.

Yevhen Balychev: "First of all, the cooperation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and our company, hence scientists and equipment suppliers, will help our state to properly prepare for the 5G era. Mykhailo Ilchenko: "Ukraine is currently resolving the issue of introducing 5G technology. Relevant decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers have been made. The creation of a 5th generation communication system, its launch into production and operation, require appropriate specialists. The Institute of Telecommunication Systems of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute prepares such specialists. Today we agreed that with the participation of Nokia Solutions and Networks Ukraine LLC and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation we will create a 5G Technology Centre in Kyiv on the basis of ITS. We will be helped by modern equipment, and youth of ITS is eager to gain new knowledge and work using the latest technologies. "
