Today we commemorate the events on Independence Square and honor the memory of those who defended our freedom, sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine at the cost of their lives. The Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity, is a story that unfolded before our eyes, and many of us participated in it.
Students, teachers and stuff of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were among the first to fight for their rights, dignity and freedom of thoughts. Seven years have passed since FIOT student Serhiy Bondarev died during the Euromaidan. Since then and until today, 14 students and staff members of our university have given their lives for our future. Four of them became Heroes of Ukraine posthumously. Eternal honour to their deeds.
St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral became a refuge for thousands of people during the brutal massacre. Its bells for the first time in eight centuries were on alert, warning of danger.
Let us never forget our heroes, who are already Heavenly Legions. Let us remember them in our thoughts and prayers, so that the glory of them may be heard forever.
Heroes do not die! Glory to Ukraine!
