Nowadays the largest program of international exchanges in the field of education in the United States is Fulbright Program. It aims to strengthen cultural and academic ties between citizens of the United States and other countries.
National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” was involved in the program of international exchanges in Soviet times and after gaining independence of Ukraine the university was attended by 14 specialists in computer and information sciences, political sciences, state and business management, engineering, etc.
Fresh example of successful cooperation with Fulbright program is a visit of Dr. Bethul Cherkavsky from the University of Arizona (USA), who was at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” from September 2017 to February 2018.
Ms. Cherkavsky is a specialist in educational technology and is engaged inter alia in teaching online design, developing e-learning environment and developing thinking with the use of modern technologies.
Dr. Cherkavsky conducted two English-language courses at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. One of them is the "Digital Learning" course, which was taken by third-year students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics.
The second course "Digital Learning Using Modern Educational Technologies" was a series of lessons designed specifically for university lecturers and postgraduates. The course aroused great interest among the scientific and pedagogical workers of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” even at the registration stage. During a month Ms. Cherkavsky introduced the students to the course with modern pedagogical techniques and cutting-edge information technologies which are successfully used in leading universities in the United States.
