A joint educational-scientific-research laboratory of analog electronics ‘Melexis – Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ was opened on the 26th of December at the Faculty of Electronics.
The Director-General of ‘Melexis – Ukraine’ company Anna Maslikova, the Head of personnel Nataliya Sydorchuk, the Head of Analogue Division Volodymyr Roshchuk,the first Vice-Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and academician of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yury Yakymenko, the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics professor Valery Zhuykov, the Head of the Department of Industrial Electronics professor Yuliya Yamnenko, the Associate Professor of Industrial Electronics Oleksandr Bondarenko, the Deputy Head of the Department of Microelectronics professor Anatoliy Orlov, the participant of cooperation programme with ‘Melexis – Ukraine’ company Associate Professor of Optics of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University Vadym Prokopets and students of the Department of Industrial Electronics took part in the solemn ceremony of opening the laboratory.
‘Melexis’ is a famous Belgium IT-company that has been working since 1993. It specializes in the production of semiconductor integrated microcircuits for the automotive industry and home appliance. The Systems developed by its specialists are used in cars of all famous brands. On average, 10 chips of ‘Melexis’ are used in each car produced in the leading countries of the world. The company has its centers around the world, including Ukraine. Its office in Kyiv specializes in the development of analog-digital circuits, software and hardware for microcircuits and systems of testing the microcircuits for industrial production, in conducting qualifying tests of developed microcircuits, in checking their quality and transferring them to production.
Kyiv office of Melexis N.V. (Belgium), ‘Melexis-Ukraine’ JP gave the modern equipment to the University for the newly-created Laboratory in free of charge using under an appropriate agreement. This equipment would provide the opportunity to conduct laboratory works from few educational subjects on a high level. Besides, it would be useful for students’ and Electronics Faculty teachers’ preparing of educational and scientific projects in the field of Analogue Electronics.
Yuriy Yakimenko in his welcoming address pointed out: “The University has to educate students with modern equipment to remain a recognized leader in the field of technic education. That’s why in Kyiv Polytechnics a great attention is payed to cooperation with leading high-technological companies.” He thanked the representatives of ‘Melexis – Ukraine’ company, who choose Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute as a partner and with whom the university cooperates many years. He admitted that trainings on the modern educational and scientific base of "Melexis-Ukraine" company of the students, who would be working Ukraine, are a perspective way for both sides.
