On November 23 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Lee Young Gu and representatives of the National University of Gyongsang National University, GNU professor, ex-rector of this university, Sun-Kee Kwon, professor Hion Te Kim and co-worker of the University Kwak Surion.
The visit of the head of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine and representatives of one of the most famous universities in the country began with an excursion around KPI and a visit to the State Polytechnic Museum. After that, the first vice-rector of the university, the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuriy Yakymenko, vice rector Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhiy Sydorenko, deputy pro rector for scientific work Ihor Lytvynov, head of the department of foreign economic activity Andriy Shysholin and others had a meeting with the guests.
Kyonsan National University is one of the leaders in South Korea's higher education. It has fourteen colleges and eight higher schools. There are twenty five thousand students, including a thousand of foreigners. In 2016 it was recognized as the best innovation university in the country.
Participants of the meeting discussed the issues of deployment of cooperation in the fields of new materials, nanotechnologies, smart-technologies, IT and some others.
In the end, agreements were reached on the preparation of an agreement, in which the issues and directions of further joint work will be regulated.
