On October 1, 2018, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of the University took place.
It began with the ceremony of the transfer of the bust of Alfred Nobel to the university.
Then there was a congratulatory speech from the head of the Department of History, Doctor of historical sciences, Professor S.O.Kostylieva, Head of the Department of Technology of Electrochemical Production, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor O.V. Liniucheva and Head of the Chair of Instruments and Systems of Orientation and Navigation Dr. Sci., Professor N.I. Burau with anniversary dates. Also, Yu.I. Yakymenko congratulated the head of the Department of Physics of Power Systems, Academician A. A. Halatov with the awarding of the honorary title “Honorary Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine”.
After that, the question of the results of admission to postgraduate and doctoral studies in 2018 was considered. Pro-rector on scientific work M.U.Ilchenko presented the indicators of the state order for preparation of graduate students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, indicators of the competition on the branches of knowledge and the number of recommended for enrollment in faculties / institutes. It was also noted that in order to improve the efficiency of the postgraduate training process the educational component of the postgraduate curriculum has been reduced to 30 credits and postgraduate classroom lessons are scheduled for no more than 1 day a week from the 2018/2019 academic year. Having heard the information provided, the Academic Council decided to approve the results of admission to the postgraduate study in 2018.
Finally, the competition issues and current affairs were considered, in particular the creation of a working group on organizing an election campaign for the post of Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Also, the issue of the establishment of the Department of medical bioengineering at the FBMI and the approval of the results of the competitive selection of projects for scientific works and scientific and technical developments of young scientists were also heard.
