On September, 28 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute visited by the delegation of the University of Oceanology of China (Qingdao, PRC), headed by Yu Jiang, president of this educational institution.
The University of Oceanology of China is located in Qingdao, in the eastern part of Shandong Province. This port city is one of the most important economic centers of the People's Republic of China. The University is one of the leading Chinese universities. It has an excellent material and technical base: educational and research laboratories, a modern library and even four research and training vessels etc. However, the training received by students is beyond the bounds of oceanography and maritime affairs. Currently, 20 colleges and schools are open at the university, including information technologies, chemical technologies, food technologies, materials science, mathematical sciences, management, economics, etc. And there are more than 28 thousand students studying in it, including more than a thousand foreign students.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhiy Sydorenko, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Department of International Cooperation Andriy Shysholin and others.
The participants of the meeting held one for one presentation of their universities and discussed the issues of establishing cooperation and its possible directions, in particular, in the fields of computer sciences, engineering, new materials, biotechnologies and others.
Finally, the guests visited the campus of the university and the monument to Confucius on the Square of Knowledge.
