On September, 20, this year, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a meeting of graduates of the Electrotechnical Faculty in 1960.
In the distant 1955, we crossed the threshold of the renowned institute for the first time, and in the 1960s, young specialists departed in different directions of their production activities. But we did not lose ties with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, meeting regularly in its walls. This year's meeting was the seventeenth one.
About our meetings, about the life paths of our graduates, about their professional achievements we have repeatedly told in the newspaper “Kyiv Polytechnic”.
This year we took part in the art contest “Talents of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, organized on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the institute.
Warm memories of our student years are firmly held in our hearts. And, above all, memories of our talented teachers, prominent specialists who have equipped us with the level of knowledge that is necessary for further work.
The course of higher mathematics came to us by S.G.Gordeladze, the knowledge about the written geometry was nurtured by A.V. Pavlov, theoretical mechanics and resistance materials were taught by T. V. Putyat and E. S. Umanskyi. The fundamental professional course on theoretical foundations of electrical engineering was patiently taught by I.M. Chyzhenko. The subtlety of the profession was given to us by V.G. KholmskyI and S. E. Khodorov (electric networks) and M.Yu.Ierusalimov (high-voltage technique). We are grateful to the A.M.Mhitaryan (hydraulics) and Yu.K.Vasyliev (electric machines), and to all our teachers in general.
Visiting today Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, it is impossible not to mention the striking changes that have taken place here in recent decades. This is no longer the institution with two educational buildings (main and chemical), mechanical workshops, a two-story student dining room and an endless building of the radio faculty. Over the past 50 years, a new modern educational and material base has been created, which is constantly being updated and refined, many training and production buildings, a scientific and technical library, new dormitories, a sports complex, a palace of culture, and a large dining room. Today Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is a real city of knowledge and science, which deservedly bears the name of a national technical university. And one should note the great personal contribution to these achievements of our colleague in the profession of G.I. Denysenko (rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1971-1987) and M.Z..Zgurovskyi (headed Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute since 1992). Incidentally, our classmate V.P.Sapronova has worked and still works during all these years of rapid development of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
In the year of the 120th anniversary of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, with which we have been closely connected during all these years, I would like to express our great gratitude and respect to it. “We are always proud of you” – we repeat, and now we repeat the words from the hymn of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
