On June 20, 2018, at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, two conferences - the XXIII International Scientific and Technical Conference “Hydroaeromechanics in engineering practice” and the XIX International Scientific and Technical Conference “Progressive Technology and Engineering Education” - began their work. Dedicated to their 120th anniversary of the Igor Sikorsky KPI and the Mechanical Engineering Institute and the Department of Applied Hydroaeromechanics and Mechanotronics.
The conference brought together more than 100 participants, scientists and manufacturers from Ukraine, guests from Georgia, Poland, India, Portugal, Bulgaria.
At the joint plenary session, the first vice-rector of the Igor Sikorsky KPI spoke with an introductory speech. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Pro-rector of the Igor Sikorsky KPI Yuriy Yakymenko, the head of the Organizing Committee of the conference “Progressive Technology and Engineering Education”, dean of the MMI, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Bobyr and chairman of the Organizing Committee “Hydroaeromechanics in engineering practice” Professor Oleg Yakhno also have given their speeches.
The work of the conferences will take place in the form of plenary sessions, sectional discussions and poster presentations on modern problems of mechanics of deformable solids, progressive engineering and technology of mechanical engineering, resource saving processes of plastic processing of materials, on the actual problems of hydroaeromechanics, hydraulic drive, hydropneumatic control systems and mechatronics, aviation and rocket-space technology, as well as engineering education.
On the first day in the plenary session the awarding ceremony took place: a number of scientists participating in the conferences for active participation in improving the quality of training engineers and on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Igor Sikorsky KPI and the Mechanic-Mechanical Engineering Institute received the Honorary Diploma from the Rector and the Academic Council of the Igor Sikorsky KPI.
Then 12 reports were presented, including: “Key trends in the development of aircraft engineering” (G.O. Krivov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrainian Research Institute of Aviation Tethnology”, Kyiv), “Modern problems of continuum mechanics in powdered technologies and composite materials” (Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, M. B. Shtern, I. Frantsevich, Institute of Problems of Materials Science, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv), “Problems of Modern Higher Engineering Education of Ukraine” (P. L. Stuttman, Chairman of the Supervisory Board “Hydrosila Group” and “Elverti Group”, Kropyvnytskyi).
On June 21, a report will be heard on the results of the completed Ph.D. thesis, speeches and wishes of the participants of the conference and summing up the work of the conference and decision-making. In addition, sections will work. The program of the first conference sections “Modern problems of mechanics of a deformable solid bodies”, “Resource-saving processes of materials processing”, “Applied hydroaeromechanics and mechatronics”, “Progressive engineering and technology of mechanical engineering”, “Aviation and rocket and space technology”, “Problems of higher engineering education in Ukraine”. The second one is “Technical Hydromechanics”, “Hydropneumatic and Mechatronics Systems”, “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Machines, Hydraulic Transmissions”.
The work of the conferences will last 2 days.
