February 13, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” was visited by a delegation of representatives of the managing board of Samsung Electronics. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the scientific, educational and innovative structure of the university, as well as to discuss the opportunities and ways of cooperation with the university authorities.
The delegation consisted of the representatives of research department, Samsung Research – senior vice-president, head of R&D strategy department Synbjom Choi, senior vice-president, leader of information security field Galejun Daniel An, heards of R&D department,vice-presidents Hounsy Kim, Beckjun Lim, Yonmin Li, Jinwuk Li, head of open innovations department Hochol Shin. In addition Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was attended by the leaders of the Ukrainian Research and Development Center (Samsung R & D Institute Ukraine) i.e. its general director, vice president Sangwuk Kwon; R & D director, leader of R&D strategy and artificial intelligence Andriy Fisunenko; chief engineer, head of the information security field Alexei Mohonko; chief engineer, leader of the innovation unit Yevhen Yakishin and senior engineer Sehun Shim.
The KPI’s representatives in negotiations with Samsung Electronics representatives were the Vice-rector O. M. Novikov, Director General of the Science Park “Kyiv Polytechnic”, V. M. Gnat, representatives of the Institute of Physics and Technology, acting director of the IPT T.V. Litvinova, deputy director S.A. Smirnov, heads of chairs M.V. Graivoronsky and M.M. Savchuk. Among the participants of the meeting there were also representatives of the International Scientific and Training Center for Information Technologies and Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine i.e. the head of the department V.V. Matsello and a Chief Scientist M.I. Shlesynger.
Agreements were reached concerning further steps of the development in the areas of cybernetic security, cryptographic protection of information and a number of others during the discussion of issues of scientific and educational cooperation.
