In April 25 a working meeting in the format “Business – R&D institutions – government” organized by the Office of reforms of Cabinet of Ministers took place in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute. The topic of the meeting was “Innovations development for the restructuring of high technology economy”. Minister of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksandr Saienko, director of Department of innovation activity and technology transfer of Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Viktor Shovkaliuk, innovation politics chief specialist in Europe and Central Asia regions of World Bank Group Aridi Anvar, representatives of State innovation, finance and credit institution (SIFCI), national scientific and technological association of Ukraine, “Hartron” PJSC, start-up companies “Ecois.me”, “Cardiomo”, Office of reforms of Cabinet of Ministers and others took part in the meeting.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute was represented by rector of the university, academician of Ukrainian NAS Mykhailo Zgurovsky, pro-rector for research work, academician of Ukrainian NAS Mykhailo Ilchenko, general director of Scientific Park “Kyiv polytechnics” Volodymyr Hnat and manager of Start-up school «Sikorsky Challenge» Inna Maliukova.
The meeting regarding the ways of innovation development in the country started with the presentation of Volodymyr Hnat who spoke about the potential and practical aspects of the activity of Scientific Parks as exemplified by “Kyiv polytechnic” as well as projects that are being realized in its environment.
The meeting participants discussed key directions that have to be followed in order to eliminate any obstacles for innovation development. Among them the most important are – improvement of protection system of intellectual property rights, improvement of business climate, restructuring of financial infrastructure, internationalization and marketing of innovation etc.
In the end it was agreed that specialists who took part in the meeting would provide the moderators with their proposals for further elaboration and taking into consideration particular governmental decisions and draft laws.
