In April, 14 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, Lee Young-Gu visited Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute. He was accompanied by consul of the Republic of Korea Shin Ku Ho and power and economic analyst Cho Hyun Young.
The head of diplomatic representation of the South Korea had a meeting with the authority of the university.mRector of the university, academician of Ukrainian NAS, Mykhailo Zgurovsky, first pro-rector, academician of Ukrainian NAS, Yurii Yakymenko, pro-rector deputy for international relations Yevgen Polishchuk, the head of Start-up school "Sikorsky Challenge", Inna Maliukova, general director of as Scientific park " Kyiv polytechnics" Volodymyr Hnat, director of the World Data Center of Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development (WDC-Ukraine) Kostiantyn Yefremov, scientific director of Center of supercomputer science of the university Sergii Stirenko, head of department of external economic activity Andrii Shysholin and others took part in the meeting.
Guests had a chance to watch the presentation of Innovative environment of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute "POLYTECO SCIENCE CITY" and start-up school "Sikorsky Challenge", activity and research of WDC-Ukraine as well as possibilities of university Center of supercomputer science.
The meeting participants discussed the issues of communication breakdown between business and science representatives of Ukraine and South Korea as well the ways and mechanisms of cooperation development in different areas. Among the issues raised in the course of communication, there was an issue regarding creation of common Ukrainian and Korean innovative center on the basis of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute. Thus, the participants agreed to start the work on center activity concept development and discuss particular steps towards implementation of these plans in the nearest future.
