Under the title "Erasmus +" January 1, 2014 a new program of the European Union started to improve skills and efficiency in education, training, youth and sport. In the period of 2014-2020 program will create opportunities to learn, to acquire professional knowledge and skills, gain work experience or volunteer abroad more than 4 million Europeans. For the costs associated with the implementation of the program were allocated 14.7 billion euros.
The "Erasmus +" combines educational program of the EU lifelong learning program of the EU "Youth in Action" (Youth in Action), as well as five previous programs in higher education for countries outside the European Union (Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink program and cooperation with developed countries) into a single program. The program integrates the financing in the field of sports. Since the program "Erasmus +" is based on previous programs, it was used the best tools and tested concepts of the predecessors.
"Erasmus +" intensify efforts in the areas of education, youth and sports in three different areas:
The key line 1
Mobility. Educational mobility for people from all areas of general and vocational education.
The key line 2
Cooperation. Strategic partnerships with scientific societies "Sector Skills Alliances", IT-platforms, including through eTwinning partnerships between universities of EU and partner countries.
The key line 3
Support for reform. Supporting the modernization higher education in all areas of general and vocational education, development and implementation of transparency tools recognized by the EU; creating a network of experts on higher education reform, and supporting dialogue on educational policy.
The main aim of program "Erasmus +" for higher education is modernization and improvement of education in higher education institutions in Europe and the rest of the world. It provides an opportunity for students and staff to develop skills and improve career prospects.
Benefits of participation in the exchange program "Erasmus +":
- Education - an opportunity to compare the quality of learning, teaching methods and educational techniques and the work of higher education institutions abroad;
- Linguistic - the chance to master a foreign language and terminology specific to a particular area of knowlage;
- Cultural - familiarity with the culture of the country, with the way of life of its residents and student life;
- Experience - the prospect to become independent and develop the ability to withstand unexpected situations.
Participation in the program of student mobility can be an invaluable experience, as students are encouraged to take the challenge and seize the opportunity to study abroad, which gives them the European Union.
Now, in NTUU"KPI"we have 27 projects credit mobility program "Erasmus +". Funding allocated for 150 participants (bachelors, masters, graduate students, research and teaching and administrative staff). Among the partner universities for credit mobility program are famous universities such as Wroclaw University of Technology (Poland); University of Granada (Spain); Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain); Masaryk University (Czech Republic); Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium); Graduate School of Mines University Nancy Lorraine (France); Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy); University of Jena (Germany); Middle East Technical University (Turkey) and many others.
