In June, 9, Ambassador Extraordinary and Preliminary of French Republic in Ukraine, Isabelle Dumont visited NTUU "KPI".
She was accompanied with the manager of French and Ukrainian center of university and scientific cooperation, Silven Rigolle and the coordinator of Campus France Ukraine, Olga Dorosh.
After familiarizing themselves with the historical part of KPI campus and scientific and technical library of NTUU "KPI", guests examined expositions of National polytechnic museum at NTTU "KPI" as well as its Aviation and space department n. a. I. Sikorskyi. There has been a presentation of scientific activity of NTUU "KPI" in the field of outer space exploration, in fact, the space university program. It was developed for guests by project scientific advisor of a series of nano-satellites of KPI "PolyITAN", Borys Rassamakhin.
The presentation was followed by the meeting of the head of the diplomatic mission of France in Ukraine with the representatives of the administration and academic subdivisions of the university. Rector of NTUU "KPI", academician of Ukrainian NAS, Mykhailo Zgurovskyi, first pro-rector, academician of Ukrainian NAS Yurii Yakymenko, pro-rector for scientific work, academician of Ukrainian NAS, Mykhailo Ilchenko, pro-rector for international relations, correspondent member of Ukrainian NAS, Sergii Sydorenko, director of the Center of international education of the university, Volodymyr Koval and others. Yurii Yakymenko spoke about the cooperation between NTUU “KPI” with French universities as well as the cooperation on the double-degree programs.
In the course of communication, Mrs. Isabelle Dumont highly appreciated KPI traditions and its best practices and asked the university heads to outline specific proposals regarding the cooperation with French university and companies as well as the projects with a view to being realized since the facilitation to contacts establishment between educators and scientists of both countries can have only general character without such specification. Thus, the participants agreed to draft a full package of proposals for French Embassy on behalf of KPI.
“…Sometimes mass-media deliver to the world community adverse information about Ukraine. And, unfortunately it puts off many potential partners. So, if you inform French scientists, professors and students about the fact that there are some centers that we can work together with according to European standards and programs, - this will be great support” – said rector of KPI, Mykhailo Zgurovskyi in the end of the meeting.
