October 30, the NTUU "KPI" hosted the V International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Foreign Language Education in Higher Technical School: Methods, Approaches, Technologies" organized by the Department of English Technical Assistance № 1 of the Faculty of Linguistics.
Teachers and scientists of NTUU «KPI», National Aviation University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Kharkiv National University of Municipal Economy named after O. M. Beketov, Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies, representatives of the Training and Scientific Center for Vocational Education of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, attended the conference.
At the plenary session, American teacher Ryan Seneca presented information on innovative approaches in teaching English that are already used in South Korea, Japan, Finland, and the United States.
Associate Professor of the Department of Theory, Practice and Translation of the German Language LF NTUU "KPI" Candidate of Philology Viktoriya Kotvytska delivered a lecture on the semantic adaptation of Anglicism in the Germanic language. Anna Kolosova, Ph.D. in Philology gave a lecture on "The Onomasticon of Winston Churchill's Memoirs “My early life”: Semantic and Functional Aspects”. Senior Lecturer of the Department of English for technical direction №2 FL NTUU "KPI" Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Elizaveta Kryukova presented the report "Preparation of the future teacher of higher educational institution for the introduction of interactive pedagogical technologies".
The reports on sectional sessions covered modern methods and techniques for the formation of all types of linguistic and linguistic competencies for students of technical specialties. In particular, the following topics were highlighted: methods for studying modern terminology, methods for forming the culture of written speech and the selection of text-samples for teaching, teaching monolithic speech with the help of information and communication technologies, the use of modern teaching styles, the use of computer technologies on practical lessons and considered the newest teaching methods: discussion and role play. In addition, the speakers also touched on many other topics that are very important in the process of preparing a modern teacher of higher technical school.
