On December 17th Mykhailo Zhurovskyi, a rector of NTUU “KPI”, academician of NAS of Ukraine and Pavlo Kozyrev, city councilor of Ukrainka, signed an agreement on collaboration between the university and Ukrainka city council.
The document created normative ground for coordination of actions between KPI and city council organ of Ukrainka in Kyiv region. Main directions are described according to which the university and city council will collaborate.
First of all, that’s education – along with NTUU “KPI” the council should create a mechanism of preparation of specialists at KPI who are necessary for the town and workforce market; the university will assist the creation of lyceums, grammar schools, colleges and technical collegiums in Ukrainka; pedagogical innovations, experimental programs and modern methods will be introduced at the activity of general educational establishments with involvement of KPI specialists etc.
It also involves scientific and technical activity. According to this direction, developments of NTUU “KPI” specialists focused on the social and economic development will be implemented in the practice of town organizations and industrial enterprises.
Besides, agreement participants agreed to collaborate in intellectual and cultural spheres. Student military and sport camp “Sosnovyi”, based in Ukrainka, will play a key role from NTUU “KPI” side. Its potential will be used to conduct different town events and festivals. In his turn, the town councilor take the responsibility to support students’ initiatives; involve students, lecturers and KPI specialists into events within collaboration among brother-cities of Ukrainka etc.
Naturally, the question of improvement of collaboration of students and pupils’ organizations in educational, scientific, cultural, sport ant recreation spheres was raised while preparing the agreement. Its peculiarities were determined by age and status of participants, that is, it presupposes organizing of common conferences, forums, Olympiads and summer schools etc. as well as sport competitions, recreational events and so on.
A substantial part of the agreement was devoted to social and economic activity. The town (Ukrainka’s) council is responsible for assistance in job placement of local graduates of NTUU “KPI”; facilitate in expanding the network of production practice bases at the enterprises and organizations that operate in the town; involve the university into the town job fairs; assist in provision of stable electricity, water and heat supply to the buildings of “Sosnovyi” camp that is a structural subdivision of the university; provide multi-sided help in greening and landscaping of territory etc; constantly and physically facilitate NTUU “KPI” in creating project and land works on providing by the university necessary documents; prohibit the allocation of pieces of land (given to the university for constant usage or reserved) to juridical and physical bodies etc.
From the KPI side, the university undertook a commitment to assist in quick implementation of initiatives of town councilor on the question of higher education development; provide preparation and reeducation of Ukrainka specialists according to market needs; facilitate in usage of library fund of the university; contribute to KPI specialists’ participation in conducting expertise of town projects and preparation of normative documents and decisions on the issues of economic and socio-cultural development of the town; provide methodological assistance to Ukrainka town council for conducting joint and town mass events etc.
Thus, the agreement opens wide horizons for common creativity that will be interesting and useful for Ukrainka as well as for NTUU “KPI”.
