On June 27, 2014 at the Cultural and Information Centre of the Embassy of Ukraine in France the grand opening of the exhibition "Maidan 2004-2014 and KPI" took place.
The exhibition, which will be open to visitors during the month, organized by National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" together with French-Ukrainian Association "Art culture and creativity." The cultural center at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of France and its director Oleg Yatsenkivsky provided rooms for the exhibition and assisted in the opening ceremony.
The President of the French-Ukrainian Association "Art Culture and Creativity» Lubov Bodnarchuk and activists of this social organization made a huge contribution into the exibition.
Students and professors of KPI were active participants of two Maidans, which have become landmarks in the history of modern Ukraine - 2004 and 2013-2014 years. So to everyone who came to the opening of the exhibition in Paris on June 27, 2014, it was very interesting to talk with representatives of the university - the direct participants and witnesses of those events. Rector of NTUU "KPI" Academician of NAS of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky told the participants about these events. Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work Professor Petro Kyrychok, Associate Professor of Philosophy, Member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine Marina Prepotenska, undergraduate student Radchych Severin and others have added some details during informal meetings with the participants. Significantly, the first exhibition audience included not only representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora, but also indigenous French. Local media was also there.
This event marked the beginning of formal collaboration between French-Ukrainian Association "Art Culture and Creativity» and NTUU "KPI". The cooperation agreement was signed between them which should provide the exchange and mutual support for cultural projects and issue of the joint French-speaking information and cultural newsletter.
During the visit to France, representatives of NTUU "KPI" also met with the leadership of one of the leading technical universities in the world - famous École Polytechnique, which dates back to 1794. By the way, now there are several students from KPI enrolled there. During the meeting the participants discussed expansion of cooperation. Firstly, of course, in scientific research, particularly involving students and graduate trainees PhD program.
