Delegation of representatives of Rectors Conference of Polish technical universities visited NTUU "KPI".
Members of the delegation, which included the chairman of the Conference the Rector of the Wroclaw University of Technology Professor Tadeusz Vetskovsky, Rector for Conference International Relations Opole University of Technology Rector Professor Marek Tukendorf and director of the Polish Educational Foundation «PERSPEKTYWY» Bianca Sivinsky, toured the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI" and held talks with representatives of the faculties and institutes of KPI at Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic".
In addition, visitors from Poland got acquainted with the Ukrainian - Polish center of improvement of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency at the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automation.
One of the main themes being discussed during meetings of scientists KPI with Polish colleagues, was the formation of a consortium of scientists of Ukraine and Poland for the preparation of projects in priority areas of the EU program "Horizon 2020". Water treatment technology, ecology, information and communication technologies, sustainable energy, sustainable development, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies, environmental management, Life Sciences, "Green" technologies and alternative energy sources, cyber security, aviation and space technology, the program "Student sattelite" are identified as the main ones.
April 25 representatives of the Polish technical universities met with the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergei Kweet. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Henryk Litwin, Director of Relations with Ukrainians abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Yatsenkovsky, vice-rector of the National Mining University of Ukraine Alexander Beshta, Head of International Relations of the NAS of Ukraine Sergey Myakushko and others.

After discussions on increasing cooperation between universities in Poland and Ukraine Chairman of the Board of the Association of Rectors of Technical University of Ukraine Rector of NTUU "KPI", NASU academician MZ Zgurovsky and head of the Conference of Rectors of technical universities of the Republic of Poland, Professor Tadeusz Vetskovsky signed a general agreement between the Association of Rectors of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine and the Rectors Conference of Technical Universities of Poland.
"I believe that this agreement will strengthen cooperation between our universities and will have a very positive impact on us, including the creation of consortia to work on projects that are supported by the European Union ..." - said the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergey Kweet, welcoming the participants signing.
During their visit to the KPI Polish guests discussed with the Rector Michael Zgurovsky, Vice-Rector of the National Mining University of Ukraine (Dnepropetrovsk) Alexander Beshto and director of the Center Ukrainian - Polish cooperation of the University Roman Dichkovsky preparations for the Forum of Rectors of technical universities in Poland and Ukraine to be held in October this year in Dnepropetrovsk. Particular attention was paid to the Polish experience in the international accreditation of programs of technical universities and cooperation with European agencies - quality assurance in higher education. As one of the main it will be addressed at the Forum.
