On October, 23 the delegation group of international experts Counter-Terrorism Committee of the Security Council visited NTUU “KPI”. Guests got acquainted with the historical part of the university campus , toured the exposition of the Department of Aviation and Astronautics named after Igor Sikorsky at the State Polytechnic Museum of NTUU "KPI" and met the authority of the university.
The meeting was attended by the rector of the university, academician of NAS Michael Zgurovsky, Chairman advisor of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Petrenko, Vice President for Research, academician of NAS Michael Ilchenko , Vice President for perspective development, Director of the Institute of Physics and Technology of NTUU "KPI" Oleksiy Novikov, Vice President for International Relations, corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine Sergiy Sidorenko , CEO of the Science Park " Kyiv Polytechnica" Victor Kamaev, deputy Vice President for International Affairs, head of international activities Eugene Polishchuk , Project Manager for Information Security of the Institute of Physics and Technology of NTUU "KPI" Vladimir Tkach and others.
Rector of NTUU "KPI" Michael Zgurovsky informed the participants of the meeting about the security-related targets in terms of scientific and educational activities of the university, in particular, the inclusion of issues related to security in general engineering courses and special disciplines, as well as certain areas of training specialists in the sphere of providing information security. Thus, an integral part of the training courses offered to students of KPI and on which university researches are conducted, are the problems of nuclear safety, chemical safety, information security, energy security, environmental security and safety of biotechnology. Project Manager for Information Security of the Physical-Technical Institute of NTUU "KPI" Vladimir Tkach told about one of the projects of this subject, which is implemented in the institute – the monitoring and analysis of the development of social networks. In conclusion, the participants discussed the peculiarities of the activities in the field of providing various aspects of security and the role of universities in its scientific support.
