On October 18, 2012 the round table “International mobility of young scientists: promotion opportunities in Ukraine and Germany” took place at NTUU “KPI”. It was organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine and NTUU "KPI".
The representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukrainian State Agency for Science, Innovation and Informatization, International Bureau of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, German Research Foundation (DFG), Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG), Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, H.M. Dobrov Center for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies of NAS of Ukraine, National Information Centre for Ukraine-EU S&T Cooperation, as well as the “Double degree programs” of the Joint Ukrainian-German Faculty of Engineering and others took part in the roundtable meeting.
Participants discussed issues of international mobility of Ukrainian students and scientists and the ways of it’s improvement, German experience in organization of young scientist exchange programs, the international scientists mobility in the German research policy, as well as political, cultural and economic grounds for implementation of scholarships for young scientists; international joint mobility programs etc.
Furthermore, the specific questions of exchange programs, including the mechanisms of selection and finance for Master's and PhD-programs, as well as an increase in the number of bilateral professional exchange programs were discussed.
