"
It should be noted that special attention to the current fair was due the fact that it took place in the year marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Japan.
This is the second fair of Japanese universities in the KPI. The first took place last year and showed that Ukrainian students are very interested in everything that concerns culture, science and education in Japan. Last year's fair was marred by a terrible tragedy - the Great East Japan Earthquake and the accident at the nuclear power plant Fukushima-1, which occurred on the opening day. But this year, ominous shadow of those events have no effect on mood and overall tone of the fair. Moreover, the memories and the experience of overcoming similar nuclear accidents that fell to the fate of our countries, just make communication warmer.
The fair was organized by the Ukrainian-Japanese Center NTUU "KPI" with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The special role played by today Ukrainian-Japanese Center of the University in strengthening international ties of our state, pointed in his opening remarks, Director of the Department of relations with foreign Ukrainians, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Yatsenkovsky. He said: "Special attention in the context of development cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in the field of education and science deserves activity Ukrainian Japanese center of Kiev Polytechnic Institute, which contributes significantly to the promotion of Japanese culture in Ukraine, the implementation of specific Ukrainian-Japanese projects of various kinds, the establishment of direct contacts between our peoples. "
Universities of Kyoto, Oita, Nagoya, Ritsumeykan, Toyo, Tohoku, Hokkaido, Tsukuba and Shidzuoka participated in the fair. It is worth noting that this year's the fair’s events were not limited only the presentation in the hall and lobby of the Center for Culture and Arts KPI. On the eve of the professors of Japanese university have read a series of lectures on various subjects. However, most of it was taking place, of course, March 20. Representatives of Japanese universities first made very detailed presentations of their schools in the Great Hall of the CCA. After the official part at the stands, that have been deployed in the lobby, they answered numerous questions from students and graduate students who want to learn more about the opportunities and conditions of study in their universities. It should be noted that visitors of the fair liked this form of acquaintance with universities of the country, known by the world famous level of technology and advances in science (primarily, of course, in the application of its branches). None of their questions were left unanswered.
