Mikhail Yangel (25/10/1911, p. Zyryanova Irkutsk province (now Nyzhnoilimskyy district), Irkutsk region, Russia - 10.25.1971, Moscow, buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery) - Soviet scientist, engineer, designer in the field of rocketry. Under his supervision and with his participation several classes and generations of Soviet strategic missile were created. These are: first generation of one-and two-stage rockets on fuel with high-boiling components with autonomous control, two-stage missile with a range of over 11 thousand km and complex combat missions, liquid fuel rocket which can stay in a fueling condition more than 5 years, solid fuel missile with high technical and tactical characteristics. He created science and design school.
