Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute took the first position in National academic rating “TOP-200 Ukraine” 2017!
The main criteria for choosing the winner are: focus on innovation and demand of universities among public. Since under modern conditions, real innovative achievements of universities and their contribution in social advancement as well as midterm and long-term perspectives of their development have top priority. Thus, the team of national rating “Top 200 Ukraine” carried out regular assessment of activities of universities of Ukraine for the last year and calculated their integral rating including the criteria “Innovative activity of universities” introduced in 2016.
International supervision board of the rating “Top 200 Ukraine” gave the highest ratings to the following world class achievements of Ukrainian universities:
1. Creation and launching of the second university nano-satellite “PolyTAN2” (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute);
2. Triumph of the team “White hackers” in a series of 60 world competitions 2016 on cyber security (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute);
3. Prestigious “Salem Prize 2016” in solving tasks of the tightest packaging of bullets in 8 and 24-dimensional spaces with an application of module forms (Taras Shevchenko Kyiv national university) was given to mathematician Maryna Viazovska.
In total, according to all criteria, National technical university of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute” became the ultimate winner of the rating “Top 200 Ukraine” 2017.International supervision board of the rating “Top 200 Ukraine” declared that Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute created and developed powerful innovative ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge”, brought on the market more start-ups than other universities of Ukraine, sold the greatest number of licenses and innovations, implemented the greatest number of projects into the defense system of Ukraine. Thus, in comparison with 2016 the university it increased the distance from the rest of Ukrainian universities. At present graduates of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute have a big demand from international and national highly technological companies.
Second and third positions were given to Taras Shevchenko Kyiv national university and Kharkiv national university named after Karazin. They have the biggest government funding of scientific research, high citation indexes according to Scopus and Web of science systems, high level of graduates demand on the labor market, especially in the sector of government administration.
Top ten of national rating also includes National technical university “Kharkiv polytechnic institute”, National University “Lviv polytechnics”, National mining university, National medical university named after Bohomolets, National University of bio-resources and nature management of Ukraine, Ivan Franko Lviv national university and Kyiv national economic university named after Vadym Hetman.
