On January 30, Andrii Romanovych Stepaniuk, Head of the Department of Machines and Apparatus of Chemical and Oil Refining Production (MAOCP) of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, PhD, Associate Professor, celebrated his sixtieth birthday.

A 1988 graduate of the department, he started as an engineer and later worked as an assistant. In 1994, he defended his PhD thesis under the supervision of Dr. Pavlishchev. Having outstanding organizational skills, for many years he was the executive secretary of the faculty selection committee. He was very focused on career guidance among schoolchildren. He was one of the founders of the department's pre-university training branch, which has been successfully operating since 1998.
As deputy head of the department, Andrii Stepaniuk made a lot of efforts to upgrade the department's laboratory facilities, create specialized computer laboratories and educational programs for bachelors, masters and doctors of philosophy. For many years, he has also been carefully fulfilling the duties of the secretary of the university's scientific and methodological commission in the specialty 133 “Industrial Engineering”.
Andrii Romanovych takes an active part in improving the educational process at the department, first as an assistant, and later as an associate professor. Thanks to his efforts, the department launched and developed a new area of study - oil and petroleum products processing. His research interests include heat and mass transfer processes in a granular fluidized bed; heat and mass transfer and recrystallization processes in the production of complex humic-mineral fertilizers; hydrodynamics in a distillation column with a regular nozzle. He is the author of more than 650 scientific papers. Among them are more than 65 manuals, a monograph and more than 60 patents.
Since 2020, Andrii Romanovych Stepaniuk has been an expert of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and has repeatedly headed expert groups for the accreditation of educational programs.
For his sincerity, friendliness, and goodwill, the staff of the department has been electing Andrii Romanovych as the department's trade union representative for many years.
In September 2021, in a difficult time for Ukraine, he was unanimously elected to the position of Head of the Department as a graduate of the Department. Thanks to his efforts, the staff of the department survived the difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war without losses.
