Modern Solomensky district is one of ten urban districts of Kiev, located on the hills of the right Bank of the Dnieper River in the South-Western part of the capital. Complexes of modern buildings and monuments, green parks and limpid ponds, silver rails and airports runways - all this together creates inherent expressive look. Solomenskiy district is formed by historic settlement Solomenka, Railway colony, Shulyavka; former villages and hamlets Karavaevi Dachi, Grushki, Vidradny, Chokolivka, Batieva Gora, Kuchmin Yar, Olexandrivska Slobidka, Sovki, Juliani. Montagnik village was formed during Soviet times on the present territory of the district, as well as housing estates Pershotravnevy, Vidradny and Zaliznichny were built. A so called “Turkish small town” were formed on this territory during Post-Soviet period.
