On September 7, 2012, Educational Scientific Center of x-ray analysis NTUU "KPI" – "RIGAKU" was opened in NTUU "KPI". Today it is the most advanced center of x-ray diffraction in Ukraine. It is equipped with x-ray diffractometer "Ultima IV" produced in Japanese corporation "RIGAKU."
The event, dedicated to opening the Centre, was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata, NTUU "KPI" rector M.Z.Zgurovsky, president of the RIGAKU corporation Hikaru Shimura, acting rector of the National research technological University "MISaA" A.A.Chernikova, senior counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federa¬tion in Ukraine I.B.Sevastyanov, representatives of ministries and departments of Ukraine, local enterprises and organizations, students, instructors and researchers of NTUU "KPI".
The Center of x-ray analysis NTUU "KPI" – "RIGAKU" will be used for educational and research purposes not only by students and scholars of NTUU "KPI", but students and researchers of other universities in Ukraine, scientific organizations and industrial enterprises as well.
After opening the Centre a lecture session of specialists from Japan, Ukraine and Russia was held in the University Academic Hall. It was opened by the report of the "RIGAKU" vice-president Hideo Toraya dedicated to the latest developments of the company. The deputy head of science department of the National research technological University "MISaA" A.M.Polyakov, head of the chair of metal physics of NTUU "KPI" prof. S.I.Sydorenko and others also spoke at the session.
