The Research Institute of Electronics and Microsystems Engineering (EMSE Research Institute) was established on January 1, 2017. It is the legal successor of the Research Institute of Applied Electronics.
The Research Institute of Electronics and Microsystems Engineering develops and implements modern electronic equipment and devices for industry, energy, communications, and medicine. The Research Institute fulfills orders of the regional branch “South-West Railway” PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsya”, Municipal Enterprise “KYIVSKYI METROPOLITEN”, Municipal Enterprise “Vodokanal”, Kyiv Tram and Trolleybus Department, Public Joint-Stock Company “Ukrtelecom”. The Research Institute cooperates with many leading institutes of NASU (the Institute of Electrodynamics,the Institute for Problems of Materials Science, Lashkaryov Institute of Semiconductor Physics, the Institute of Magnetism).
Many leading scientists (including 8 doctors and 26 candidates of science) work at the EMSE Research Institute to solve science and applied tasks. Highly qualified employees make up 30% of the total number of employees in research institutes.
Main areas of activity:
- signal processing (methods of signal processing and coding, increase of noise immunity);
- nanoelectronics (development of technology for manufacturing and research of properties of nanomaterials and nanostructures, development of mathematical models of nanostructures);
- communication devices (development, modeling);
- solar panels (development, modeling, development of manufacturing technology);
- nanosensors (development, modeling, development of manufacturing technology);
- microwave electronics (dielectric resonators and frequency-selective devices based on them);
- dielectric spectroscopy (study of microwave properties of dielectric materials, development of methods for controlling microwave parameters of materials);
- gas-discharge devices (development, modeling and optimization of parameters, development of manufacturing technology);
- medical electronics (development of methods for diagnosing the condition of biological objects, development and design of devices for diagnosis and treatment);
- navigation devices (device for determining the angular coordinates of the Sun).
