Zworykin Konstantin (1861-1928) - Professor, Dean of Mechanical Faculty (1898-1904), Rector of the Polytechnic Institute (1904-1905), Head of the research department of mechanical technology (1922-1927). In 1884 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Technology. He worked on the creation of marine and river vessels (1884-1887). He was head of the Mechanics and Wood plant in Astrakhan (1887-1888), led the research. In 1888 he was invited to the Kharkiv Institute of Technology, where he lectured on flour production and technology of wood, supervised the design of steam boilers in the mechanical and chemical separations. From 1898 he taught at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, gave courses of general mechanical technology, machine parts and flour production, directed diploma projects without leaving engineering practice. In 1905 he retired and moved to Kharkiv. In 1918 he returned to Kiev Polytechnic Institute, and in 1922 headed the research department of mechanical technology.

He was the founder of the science of cutting metals, author of numerous works on engineering, including: "Determination of diameter and approximate weight of a cylindrical tubular boiler" (1888), "The course of mechanical wood technology" (1893), "Course flour production" (1894), "The work and effort required to remove the metal shavings "(1898)," The course of machine parts "(1900)," hardening of iron gas "(1911)," Agricultural mills and mill engineering "(1913)," The scientific organization of labor and production in the flour-milling business "(1924) "New improved design of Trier" (1925).
