On May 14, 2026, the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Applied Geometry, Engineering Graphics, and Intellectual Property Objects" was held online. The conference is a specialized academic event for the Department of Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. Therefore, the foundation of this scientific forum was the Kyiv Polytechnic School of Applied Geometry.
The conference was co-organized by the Ukrainian Association of Applied Geometry, the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, Universitas Melitensis, and the University of Georgia. The International Programme Committee included Ukrainian scholars and international experts, among them software engineer Pavlo Mamontov (Premier Automation, USA), Doctor of Technical Sciences Savelii Kukharets (Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas), and Associate Professor Tamar Pataria (University of Georgia).
The conference was opened with a welcoming address by Professor Hennadii Virchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Head of the Department of Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics. He defined the main goals of the conference as exchanging information on new scientific achievements, establishing and expanding cooperation among researchers working in the fields of applied geometry, engineering graphics, and intellectual property objects, as well as strengthening ties between Ukrainian and international educational and research institutions. He also emphasized the importance of engaging students in scientific activities and supporting the development and realization of their creative potential.
The plenary session was opened by Professor Volodymyr Vanin, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Head of the University Scientific School of Applied Geometry. He first welcomed the participants of the annual conference and expressed his gratitude for the fact that, despite the difficult conditions of wartime, researchers continue their work, achieve scientific results, and find opportunities to share their findings with colleagues. Volodymyr Vanin emphasized the importance and potential of geometric modeling, its ability to represent an object or phenomenon as an organized system and enable further computer analysis and experimentation. This approach makes it possible to solve a wide range of problems in various fields of science and technology, including mechanical engineering, construction, industrial technologies, medical diagnostics, and the description of natural phenomena.
The conference brought together 69 researchers, lecturers, postgraduate students, and students, including representatives of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University, which is currently based in Zaporizhzhia due to the war, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Rivne), the Separate Structural Unit of NUBiP of Ukraine "Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute", and Vernadsky Taurida National University.
The plenary session featured presentations by specialists in the field of applied geometry, including Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University, Academician of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Vereshchaha; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor and Head of the Scientific School of Applied Geometry at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine Serhii Pylypaka; Associate Professor of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine Tetiana Volina; Doctor of Technical Sciences, doctoral researcher at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine Andrii Nesvidomin; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Vernadsky Taurida National University Yurii Doroshenko; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor and Head of the Department of Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Hennadii Virchenko; Doctors of Technical Sciences and Professors of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Volodymyr Vanin and Mykola Volokha; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Faculty of Program Systems and Applied Mathematics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Ihor Oryniak; Assistant Professor of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Pavlo Oliinyk; and Senior Lecturers of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Olena Lebedieva and Hanna Shepel. Alongside experienced researchers, postgraduate students and students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute also presented their reports: Kateryna Kulyk, Danylo Kuchmii, Mykola Hrabovskyi, Andrii Pukhalskyi, and Nataliia Akav. In total, the conference featured 16 presentations, each of which generated lively discussion. Every report received questions from participants, followed by responses and explanations from the authors.
Following the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Applied Geometry, Engineering Graphics, and Intellectual Property Objects", a proceedings collection was prepared featuring the scientific works of the participants. A total of 32 research articles were submitted for publication. The collection will be published on the "Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine" platform, with a DOI assigned to each publication.
