February 27, 2019, the 1st stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad on the academic discipline “Theoretical Mechanics” was held among the students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The Olympiad was attended by 23 students from IME, ICF, FBT.

 Professor of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics I.V. Yanchevsky was responsible for organizing.

The tasks of the Olympiad included nine problems in the main sections of theoretical mechanics: statics, kinematics, dynamics and analytical mechanics. Static tasks were evaluated in 28 points, with kinematics – in 32 points, dynamics and analytical mechanics – in 40 points, in general the maximum score of the Olympiad was 100.

The winners are:

  • 1st place - Olexander Savchenko, IME, MP-62-2, III course;
  • 2nd place - Bohdan Repin, IME, MP-61, III course;
  • 3rd place - Jana Zhabura, IME, MA-72, II course.

The final results of each participant, as well as the task of the Olympiad with solutions, are published on the department’s website at the link http://tm.kpi.ua/node/59.

In general, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad on the academic discipline “Theoretical Mechanics” has demonstrated a rather high level of professional training of future specialists in the field of technical disciplines.

Congratulations to the winners!
