Professor Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Moskaliuk, a well-known scientist in modelling of submicron and nanocomponents of electronic equipment, turned 80 on February 10th 2019. The field of his scientific research is modelling of electronic superhigh-speed processes and devices.

V. O. Moskaliuk graduated from the Faculty of Radio Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and got a degree in electronic devices in 1960. The same year he began to work at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the Department of Electronic Devices. At first, he was an assistant, then he worked as a senior lecturer. There he received a Ph.D., defending his thesis in 1972. He was one of the initiators of establishing of the Department of Theoretical Electronics in 1984, which was lead by Professor V.P. Sihorskyi (now – the Department of Electronic Engineering). V. O. Moskaliuk worked as an assistant professor at the department right from the day it was established, later he worked as a professor. In 2004 V. O. Moskaliuk was conferred the honorary title “Professor”.

V. O. Moskaliuk is one of those who developed the concept of general engineering training of the personnel at the Faculty of Electronics. He taught faculty course “Physical Basics of Electronic Equipment” for many years. The course provided methodical materials, cycle of laboratory works, technical tools of education, the series of laboratory dummies. He is the author of the scientific manual with a stamp of the Ministry of Higher Education Institutions of the USSR “Physical Basics of Electronic Equipment”, which won the first award of the contest of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1984. Apart from that, he is the author of the educational manual with a stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “Superhigh-speed Electronic Devices”, which won the second award of the contest of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2018. Moskaliuk is also the author of educational manuals “Physics of Electronic Processes” where “Electronic States” is the first part and “Dynamic Processes” is the second one.

Professor V. O. Moskaliuk teaches lecture courses “Field Theory”, “Physics of Electronic Processes”, “Basics of Nano Electronics” and a course for master’s degree “Superhigh-speed Electronic Devices”. He is the research advisor of diploma projects, of the work of master students and of the research work of postgraduates. He trained four Ph.D. candidates. A lot of state-financed and contract works for scientific and manufacturing establishments on modelling and projecting submicron and nanocomponents of electronic equipment are done under his guidance and with his participation.

Professor V. O. Moskaliuk is the author of about 200 research publications and of two inventions. He was the Deputy Head of the Department for methodical work for many years. The scientist is awarded two medals and a title “High-achiever of Education of Ukraine”.

In 2014 Prof. V. O. Moskaliuk was conferred the honorary title “Honored Lecturer of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

Sincere congratulations on your anniversary, dear Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, from the сcolleagues, students and numerous graduates of the department. We wish you health, domestic bliss and prosperity!
