Scientists of ITS are winners of Glushkov prize

At the session of the General Assembly of the NAS of Ukraine, which took place on April 25, 2019, the results of the academic activities in 2018 were presented: the results of basic and applied research in a wide range of fields of scientific knowledge and practical applications, as well as the issues of providing with scientific and innovative development, place and role of science in Ukrainian society, participation of NAS of Ukraine in solving crucial problems that are facing society and the state, and directions of further improvement of NAS of Ukraine activity, are discussed.

The session was opened by the President of the NAS of Ukraine, Academician Borys Paton, who reported on the results of the NAS of Ukraine in 2018 and the tasks for the next period. In particular, he said: "In many modern areas, significant results of fundamental and applied research have been obtained. And results of a truly world-class level. Significant efforts have been made to provide scientific solutions to problems of our country, to introduce promising developments in the real economy and social sphere, to strengthen defense and security of the state.

At the end of the report, the President of the Academy emphasized that it is necessary to promote public opinion on the importance of science for solving contemporary problems of the country, and for the important role played by this domestic scientists. "We hope that such public opinion will influence national policy," he said at last.

Also, laureates of the names of outstanding scientists of Ukraine were honored. In particular, ITS scientists: Vice-rector for scientific work, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Mykhaylo Ilhchenko; deputy head of the Department of Telecommunication Systems, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor Leonid Uryvsky; Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Sergey Alexandrovich Kravchuk were presented with diplomas of laureates of Glushkov prize for a series of works "Telecommunications systems".
