Last December, the first issue of an English-language newsletter dedicated to the life of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was published. It was called Quarterly Newsletter. However, so many events take place at the university every week that even if only the most important ones were included in the newsletter, it would be huge.
Light that did not give up: the true story of a great struggle
In the turbulent days of November 2022, when russian missile strikes caused the largest systemic failure in Ukraine's power grid and plunged the country into darkness, only clear coordination and quick decision-making helped energy workers to restore power to nuclear power plants and the entire power grid in record time by international standards. Among those who stood at the control panel of Ukraine's unified power grid, supplying power to substations, was Serdar Charyev, senior dispatcher of the centralized dispatch control center of NEC Ukrenergo and a graduate of KPI.

It is impossible to live in Ukraine and avoid the topic of war. The graphic art exhibition “Overcoming Darkness,” which was held at the Khmelnytsky Regional Art Museum, aims to explore the paradoxes and dramatic twists and turns of human life in times of crisis. The author of the works is a young artist and lecturer at the Department of Graphic Arts of the Institute of VPI, Serhii Hulevych.
At the International Conference "Priorities of Ukrainian Science"
On April 24, as part of the International Youth Symposium on the History of Science and Technology "Priorities of Ukrainian Science" on the basis of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the annual XXIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "History of the Development of Science, Technology and Education" on the topic "Fundamental Sciences as a Driver of Technological Transformations" was held online.
Ukraine – Europe: Women's Face
One of UNESCO's priorities is to promote gender equality in all spheres of human activity. UNESCO chairs established at leading Ukrainian universities pay considerable attention to this issue. The UNESCO Department of Higher Technical Education, Applied Systems Analysis and Informatics has been operating at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for over a quarter of a century.
