The Institute of Physics and Technology, one of the scientific and educational divisions of NTUU "KPI named after Ihor Sikorsky", was founded in February 1995. The institute trains specialists in modern branches of applied physics, informatics and information security.

In the bachelor's degree, master's degree and postgraduate studies, studies are carried out according to specialties and educational programs:

The teaching staff of FTI is about 100 highly qualified teachers and leading scientists of the Ministry of Education and Science, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (3 academicians, 5 corresponding members, 35 doctors of sciences, 47 candidates of sciences).

According to numerous reviews of employers, Fiztech fulfills its purpose: training elite-level specialists for science and high-tech sectors of the Ukrainian economy. Students of physics engineering won 45 awards (including 6 Grand Prix) at the International Mathematics and Programming Olympiads (London, Los Angeles, Moscow, Munich, Tehran, Tokyo, etc.), 130 awards at the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiads. The Fiztech team of "white" hackers is the first among 12,000 teams in the world in the 2016 global competition. Graduates have defended more than 40 theses (every sixth master's graduate) in the fields of mathematics, physics, and computer science in Ukraine, Europe, and the USA. Most of the graduates work in Ukraine and hold the positions of leading specialists - scientists, analysts, experts, developers.
