Subdivisions of Institute of physics and technology

IPT logo Institute of Physics and Technology (IPT), educational and scientific subdivision of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, was founded in 1995 on initiative and with active participation of noted scientists of Ukraine headed by academician B.Ye.Paton, academician M.Z.Zgurovsky and a wide range of educational communities with the purpose of implementation of physico-technical educational system in Ukraine.

In the market economy and with accelerated development of science intensive technologies, the demand for versatile specialists, capable of changing the type of professional activity, re-evaluating the cumulative experience, analyzing their abilities and acquiring new knowledge with the use of modern information technologies, is increasing. Institute of Physics and Technology trains professionals who provide technological independence and information security of Ukraine.

Training of such specialists in the leading countries of the world is being performed by physico-technical system, introduced at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and implemented in California and Massachusetts Institutes of technology. Basic principles of physico-technical education system: profound training in basic sciences and, simultaneously, a high level of mathematical and physical education, as well as foreign languages learning to a great extent and combination of general education in the best university traditions with narrow specialization, and practical skills obtaining in basic institutions.

During the training period, students are educated up to standard of the best universities in the world, which is proved by repeated achievements at international student olympiads in London, Budapest, Tehran, Prague, Warsaw, Bucharest, Munich.

IPT graduates work in institutions of NASU, bodies of the state power of Ukraine, institutions and companies of state and private ownership, where the basic requirements for employees are high intelligence, knowledge, ability to work in a severe intellectual competition.
