International activity of the University in 2015 was carried against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, which negatively affected the number of our international contacts, and to admit students of foreign nationals, and a number of other components of international activities. But despite the negative factors in the reporting year there have been many useful.
Organizational supportcarried out by department for new urgent tasks. For this structure LCA depth direction of international relations, foreign trade, created the department of organizational support of the international scope of the university. International activities introduced as a fourth component to the rating system of departments.
Together with the legal department and the administrative department was strengthened legal support international activities in many components.
Carried out the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" in this area. The collection designed with all departments regulations given to participants of the meeting and posted on the websites of the Department (http://icd.kpi.ua/?lang=uk) and the department of foreign economic activity (http://forea.kpi.ua/).
An important part of organizational support were talks and meetings with the ambassadors of foreign countries (France, China, Canada, India, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Turkmenistan, Korea, Israel, Poland, Germany, Norway, of Denmark) and high-level delegations.
It is possible to reach agreements on new areas of cooperation and major international projects.
For example, in the framework of Ukrainian-French Forum rectors was signed a quadripartite agreement on cooperation in education, science and innovation between the Ecole Polytechnic, the National School of High Technologies France (ENSTA) and NTUU "KPI", Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic".
International initiative for the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster began training at the KPI Forum "Lessons of Chornobyl Nuclear Safety World", which will provide impetus to a new stage of international cooperation in transforming the object "Shelter" into an environmentally safe system.
Ukrainian-Polish Center are developing of renewable energy in building number 20 at the expense of the Foreign Ministry of Poland under the patronage of the Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine Henryk Litwin. Became traditional international scientific-practical conference "Clean water. Fundamental, applied and industrial aspects" with representation of Polish Academy of Sciences in Kiev.
With the government of Japanese was agreed to a new concept of development of Ukrainian-Japanese Center - in common with the Science Park of KPI innovation activity.
Negotiations to establish in NTUU "KPI" Confucius Institute was completed, which will feature its operation in the innovation environment of the university and that will be an important factor in the development of Ukrainian-Chinese economic cooperation and innovation. Establishment of Confucius Institute will be provided by China and $ 150,000 educational literature to $ 20,000 with our partner - the University of c. Huichzhou, started three research projects worth $ 100,000.
Another important event: NTUU "KPI" the first among universities in Ukraine was licensed in China for the right to teach Chinese experts. This year this license received only 7 universities from around the world. Overall, cooperation with China is developing rapidly in many areas.
Now, about the main results of cooperation with relevant departments and units.
85 international educational projects are performing from the Department of Academic work and faculties. We won three projects under the program "Erasmus +, KA2" dedicated to increasing the capacity of higher education. This is the best result among Ukrainian universities. KPI takes 8 TEMPUS projects - for improve the educational process.
Through educational projects expanded to 60 network joint international structures.
Earned laboratory modernization of training modules beyong the program TEMPUS in IEE and common educational center "Prohresteh-Ukraine" (with the participation of Boeing) in MMI.
In order, to approach the departments specialties to international expertise of fields was an International seminar "European certification engineers: engineer’s pasport and quality assurance of education" with the general secretary of the European Federation of Engineering Associations (FEANI) Mr D.Boshara and President of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), Prof. B. Remo, when it signed a memorandum of a five pilot implementation of European initiatives between the MES of Ukraine, NTUU "KPI", Association of rectors of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine and mentionedEuropean agencies. In structure of the Association of rectors of higher technical educational institutions of Ukraine was organized “The Centre for quality assurance of higher technical education”.
There are 13 student programs "Double diploma" with universities in 8 countries - Germany, France, Korea, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. There are 16 projects "Erasmus +, KA1", dedicated to the development of academic mobility.
In the 2013-2015, 146 students and teachers of KPI won the Erasmus Mundus grants in the amount of 1 million 309 thousand euro.
From the Department of science and innovation has earned a joint working group on the use of KPI status of Ukraine as an associate member of the "Horizon 2020". To scientific methods preparation of graduate students introduced the course "Management of international projects".
KPI is involved in 4 projects of FP7, 3 projects "Horizon 2020", 2 projects of NATO.
National Contact Point of the "Horizon 2020" in areas "Information Technology" and "Climate and employment resources" serves as an advisory center for all thematic areas of the program, develops and distributes many recommendations, not only for scientists of KPI. Information days our NCP in partner-universities Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Kyiv was visited by 2,000 scientists.
Particular attention of the LCA in common work with the support of international days are components of the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic".
In cooperation with the Department of perspective development carried KPI representation in international infoarea through websides our overseas universitie- partners.
This positive effect on "Attractiveness rating" (on account of popularity of the Internet), which isleading Australian company "For International Colleges & Universities"for 11 thousand universities. KPI in this ranking ranked first among the universities in Ukraine.
From the Department of Economics and Finance and Legal Department, in collaboration with other departments and administrative department was
strengthened organizational support of foreign activity (FEA), above all - international transfer of knowledge.
With the support of all departments for the first time carried out in-depth monitoring of quantitative components of economic activity, which showed that over 38 activities that allowed the legislation of Ukraine, only 11 used by us and give profit university.
In order to further the development of foreign economic activity LCA stands with an offer to discuss and adopt the "Program of foreign economic activity of" KPI "for 2016-2018 years".
The provisions, embodied in the concept of the program is already beginning to be implemented. Yes Newsletters published the analysis of trends in the international education market. Negotiations on research projects fixed parity for the first time (50 to 50%) right between the KPI and Chinese partners on emerging intellectual property. Formed knowledge transfer model beyond the franchise scheme, which is enshrined as rights to intellectual property in the name of NTUU "KPI". It was suggesteda number of other ideas, and to provide commercial presence in universities abroad, including market researching of international education market.
According an appreciation to the Department of International Cooperation and the Department of Economics and Finance, only one joint educational project with elements of franchising University can get a certain short run about $ 100-150 thousand annually.
Describe the international activities of faculties and departments.
In terms of academic mobility leaders are IFF and FACS. In particular, staff and students IFB was made 51 travel abroad, including 14 trips to Germany, Japan, Belgium, Poland.
As the number of books and scientific articles published abroad, leader is IASA, which has 69 publications abroad.
By the activity of international cooperation is the undisputed leader ZF. His figures exceed the average for the KPI more than tripled. During the year the department conducted 29 international events has agreements on joint scientific and educational-methodical work of twelve foreign universities, and participates in two double diploma programs.
On the effectiveness of international activities (funds for education of foreign citizens from international projects, the cost of equipment, books, software, means of technical assistance and charity) leaders in 2015 - ITS, FACS and FPM.
For activity in the international education market is the undisputed leader FAX. This faculty trained 77 foreign students, representing 12.7% of the total faculty.

The top ten included seven faculties of department: FAX, ZF, FAT, FMM, FBT, FPM, IFB. Of the three departments of all three FS also included in the top ten.

Despite shortcomings, our international activities is positive evaluations.
Confirmed its leading position in the national ranking of "Top 200" in which the international component of the KPI ranks first in all years of its implementation.
In the ranking of universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia entered the QS, KPI ranks 48th place (second among universities in Ukraine).
In 2016 in the development of international activities have many problems.
The first of them - is the formation of the international principles on the basis of three new backbone factors that formed during the years 2014-2015:
- Ukraine Association Agreement with the European Union;
- The Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" in terms of international activities;
- Ukraine's status as an associate member of the "Horizon 2020".
Accordingly, we adjust the organization of the international activities of the university:
- It has become an integral part of the educational process and scientific-innovation work, an essential part of financial and economic activity and future development;
- Will increase focus on the European practice of quality assurance of higher education, and because of this "work" on the formation of international brand "KPI" as a modern research university leadership type;
- Organization of foreign trade activities formed on the principles of university autonomy; are removed barriers to exports and imports of educational services and innovations; will open new opportunities for cooperation with the international high-tech business.
Second. Demonstration tips about our objectives contained in the survey rankings, for example - QS.
We have weak positions in the ranking parameters as:
- Foreign students (4.3% of total students);
- Foreign teachers (1.3%);
- The number of citations per teacher (1.4%).
Better - are our options:
- The number of students enrolled in selected areas in the QS institutes, faculties "KPI" (62.1%);
- Assessment of employers (25.9%);
- Evaluation of academic experts from other universities and institutes of NAS of Ukraine (21.6%).
Speaks for itself and integrated option - the total number of points (24.3% of the leader - MIT, which is taken as 100%).
It is obvious that we should concentrate on improving these indicators, since the value of the indicators of work as a place in international rankings, evaluation of potential scientists based on internationally recognized system of citation index and others will grow and play an important role in the struggle for markets, finance, contingent by social demand.
Third. Although in 2015 we achieved an increase in the number of foreign nationals who came to us for training, but, unfortunately, significantly increase the number of foreign studentscan not over the years.
Today we have 441 trained foreigner, and in Kharkiv Polytechnic - almost four times more. Do not increasing and the number of English-language graduate programs.
The main barrier to solving these problems deans and directors of institutions called the lack of economic incentives for teachers to work with foreign students, for English-language programs. But no actual problem in our English programs will sooner or later be overcome.
Affects the fact that our cost of education is higher than in other technical universities of Ukraine.
Fourth. A significant role in strengthening commercial presence KPI international dimension should play a Center for International Education - all available in the KPI competitive forces can provide through the Centre of the Embassy of Ukraine abroad.
Fifth. Chief among the problems that limit our objective tremendous opportunity, is that many departments do not yet see the international activity of the mechanism that may open the way to solving the urgent problems of life departments.
We believe that the impetus to the development of foreign trade, the reality for university departments commercial presence in foreign markets will finally remove this barrier.
