The delegation NTUU "KPI" and Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic" visited PRC at the nvitation of the University of Huizhou (Guangdong Province, China) and Guangdong Union for International Scientific and Technological Cooperation. It was headed by Special Representative of the Rector of NTUU "KPI" - Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biotechniques Professor Alexey Dugan.
According to the Agreement on cooperation between NTUU "KPI" and the University of. Huizhou, signed during the visit, scientific and academic contacts will be expanded, a joint research institute will be established.
Cooperation within the framework of the agreements serves to increase the ranking and image of NTUU "KPI" in the world, contributes to the implementation of the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" in the international activities of the University.
International cooperation with the University Huizhou will continue to be made in the following three areas:
- educational activities: preparation in NTUU "KPI" engineering personnel for basic industries Huizhou city (biotechnology, chemistry, electronics, information technology, materials), transfer of NTUU "KPI" experience and methods of the educational process in the newest areas of knowledge, development of joint distance educational technology, training, exchange of teachers trainees and trainees, providing all types of academic mobility;
- research and development, joint research and development performance, mutual exchange undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students, organization of mutual scientific training, joint scientific conferences;
- innovation activities: carrying out jointly a set of measures aimed at enhancing the fundamental and applied research with technological orientation and perspective of commercial sale, market research to identify potential customers and consumers of high technology products in the markets of China, the formation of "scientific development portfolio" which have prospects of commercialization and transfer to the real economy of Ukraine and China, adopt advanced international technology transfer algorithms.
The purpose of the Joint Research Institute is the provision of education, science and innovation, with the key areas as follows:
- activities in higher education with the possibility of awarding a bachelor's degree;
- research activities, joint research and development in areas that are most important for the economy of Huizhou;
- innovative activity with the possibility of collaboration with the Technological parks, industrial parks, free economic zones, business entities, and also with state agencies and institutions of China.
It should be noted that today in Ukraine there are no successful experience of establishment abroad joint institutions educational and scientific type. Thus, the establishment of the Joint Research Institute in China is the first step towards the development of new advanced forms of international cooperation in this field.
Between NTUU "KPI" and Chinese partners it was agreed a number of conceptual provisions for future cooperation. In particular, it was specified that the organization for long-term cooperation in science and technology is planned to finance not only the finished developments, in the transfer of which from NTUU "KPI" to our Chinese partners, there is some interest, but also promising fundamental and scientific research. The need of the kind of cooperation in science and technology NTUU "KPI" for many years emphasized in talks with Chinese partners. Finally we were heard!
An important achievement of the delegation in talks with Chinese partners, which was confirmed in the signed documents is to create long-term fundamentals of training in NTUU "KPI" experts from a number of young Chinese citizens (to the level Bachelors, Masters, PhDs, doctors) to create in the university Huizhou "national scientific and pedagogical core" in the fields necessary for the economy and industry of Huizhou: computer science, biotechnology, electronics, petrochemicals and materials - and on this basis the participation of KPI to help Huizhou enter the advanced horizons of education, science and technology.
There was a meeting of members of the delegation NTUU "KPI" with the Rector M.Z. Zgurovsky who thanked the delegation for the work done and approved plans for implementing the agreements reached in this sector cooperation with partners NTUU "KPI" in China.
