On November the 12th 2009 Mr Maurice Le Van Suu RMEI (Rеseau Mеditerranеen des еcoles d’Ingеnieurs) vice-president visited NTUU “KPI”. He held a meeting with university management. The visit aimed at discussing NTUU “KPI” participation in RMEI network projects and preparing the co-operation agreement. First vice-principal of NTUU “KPI” Y.I. Yakymenko, international background vice-principal S.I. Sydorenko, dean of the Faculty of Electronics, professor V.Y. Zhuykov, head of the foreign economic policy department Y.I. Polishchuk, vice-dean, professor of the Faculty of Electronics Y.S. Petegeria, professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics Y.V. Khohlov and others took part in discussion.
The RMEI network exists since 1997. It includes 52 universities in 13 contries (Algeria, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey). The network was recognized by UNESCO, under the network operates UNESCO department “Innovation and sustainable development”.
Faculty of Electronics has been co-operating with the Mediterranean engineer schools network on Tempus IV program since April 2009, when the agreement between BSUN (Black Sea Universities Network) and RMEI was signed. The RMEI president professor Lеo Vincent signed the agreement as a representative of RMEI and the professor Mykhaylo Zgurovsky was the representative of BSUN.
The French party was the initiator of signing the agreement. In May 2009 the RMEI president Mr. Lеo Vincent addressed M.Z. Zgurovsky and stated his willingness to enter into co-operation and establish partnership, sent the co-operation between BSUN and RMEI agreement project and also asked for considering the document for the purpose of making decision about partnering with RMEI.
The question of co-operation and signing the agreement with Mediterranean engineer schools network was examined by the head of BSUN International Permanent Secretariat professor E. Mamut. He suggested arranging a meeting with the RMEI president so that they could discuss the question of partnership implementation.
RMEI is going to co-operate with BSUN with the aim of carrying out of joint activity in the field of sustainable development, academic mobility, water resources, renewable power generation, modern educational methods, undertaking researches.
