We study various constructions of electrode systems of plasma-chemical reactors on the non-streamer corona discharge with secondary electron emitters. We also aim at determining the efficiency of ozone generation. Finally, we establish the empirical dependence of C initial ozone concentration, I current of multicorona discharge and Q oxygen stream for reactors with needle electrodes.

The paper studies the methods of applying Bayesian belief networks for modelling cause-effect relationships between dimensions, components and factors of globalisation. The analysis of entropic characteristics of variables, facts and expert estimations of cause-effect relationships allowed building a model verifying cause-effect relationships between components of economic and social dimensions of globalisation. Moreover, we demonstrate that the levels of democratisation and gross national product, as well as such safety indicators as global safety and corruption perception significantly influence the globalisation processes.

Relying on the return-risk maximum ratio at a fuzzy constraint, as well as taking into consideration the portfolio risk and assets liquidity, we solve the optimization problem of securities portfolio formation and management for the portfolio optimization component of the financial investment management system. The proposed method of investment portfolio expands the classical Markowitz-Sharpe approaches by taking into account the liquidity and application of more advanced Value-at-Risk risk measure.

This paper highlights various approaches to medical diagnostics by applying the fuzzy inference system based on the Sugeno algorithm when the expert data for automatic description of fuzzy models of rules databases is available. Through experiments conducted, we determine that under specific conditions the fuzzy inference system based on the Sugeno algorithm is the universal approximator of continuous functionals.

This paper deals with modelling of heteroscedastic processes of the transition economy. By employing linear and nonlinear methods, notably the least squares method, Marquardt method, and Monte-Carlo method, we estimate the coefficients. Perspective taking, this problem solving seems to be quite urgent and promising for successful estimation of inflation, production costs modelling, as well as forecasting prices on the stock exchange and other heteroscedastic processes.

The paper under scrutiny aims to study phase composition, structure and properties of the laser impingement point after laser alloying of Fe–Cr alloys by a carbonaceous plaster. Through experiments conducted, we show that alloy alloying by a high-viscosity oily carbonaceous substance results in iron saturation with carbon and formation of the austenite-to-martensite structure having a high microhardness.

Abrasive Wear Resistance of Composite Diffusive Coverages Obtained by of the Titan, Vanadium, Crome and Aluminium on У8А Steel

This paper presents the research results of the influence of diffusive metal coating by titan, vanadium, and chrome on the phase composition, structure and abrasive wear resistance of У8А steel. Using fixed and loose boron carbide abrasive, we establish the abrasive wear resistance. Crucially, we determine that diffusive carbide coverages, nitrides of transition metals, intermetallic compounds increase the abrasive wear resistance of У8А Steel by 2,1–4,3 times. By employing the method of kinetic microhardness, we demonstrate the impact of microhardness and fracture toughness on the abrasive wear risistance.

By the methods of x-ray photography diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, atomic-power microscopy and resistometry, we investigate the processes of phase formation and structure in CoSb(1,82–2,51)(30 nm) thin film on the single-crystal silicon of Si(001) substrate with the SiO2(100 nm) oxide layer. We determine that the two-phase state – CoSb2 antimonide with a monoclinic crystalline lattice and CoSb3 with the cube crystalline lattice of skutterudite type is formed in CoSb(1,82–2,51)(30 nm)/SiO2(100 nm)/Si(001) thin film compositions after deposition as well as after annealing. Furthermore, the grains size of both phases increases after the thin films annealing in an interval of 720–970 K, however, when it exceeds 875 K some discontinuity flaws appear on thin films.

In this paper, we describe the technique of parametrical and thermal calculation of the mills continuous action for processing materials based on high-molecular substances. The technique can be applied for the analysis of continuous milling of power-law liquid under the condition of any friction in the inter-roll gap, as well as for deposition of the processed material on the front (slow-speed) and back (high-speed) rolls.

Thermodynamic Basis of Environmentally-Friendly Technology of Dissolution of Polycarbonic Minerals by Biogenic Agents

This study considers organic carbonic acids (Lactic and Oxalic) as biogenic agents producing soil microorganisms under natural conditions. On the experimental side, we make a case for polycarbonic minerals leaching at the stage of enriching poor ores as well as obtaining specific by-products. Relying on experimental data and thermodynamic characteristics of carbonic minerals, we prove that organic acids can be applied for minerals dissolution. Specifically, Lactic Acid and Oxalic Acid rather actively dissolve Calcite (CaCO3) and Magnesite (MgCO3), but quite slowly dissolve Dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2).

The paper studies characteristics of gas releases of pigment titanium dioxide production. Crucially, we determine that the gases of decomposition reactors of ilmenite by concentrated sulfuric acid consist of vapor mixture containing a great deal of harmful components. Finally, we elaborate the concept of its cleaning up, as well as develop the efficient basic reactor.
