As part of inter-university scientific and methodological cooperation, the joint seminar "Transforming Information Support for Education and Research in Polytechnic University Libraries: Kyiv – Lviv" was held on March 19, 2026. The event brought together 25 participants: seven representatives of the Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute and 18 colleagues from the library of Lviv Polytechnic.
Four speakers from the Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute shared their experience in key areas of research support. Svitlana Petrunovska, Deputy Director for Information Support of Education and Research, spoke about the library's experience in research data management. Liudmyla Tepikina, Chief Librarian of the Information Resources Services Department, presented the development of the subject librarian system. Olena Kosmina, Head of the Information Support of Education and Research Department, explained how scientometric analysis and publication activity monitoring are conducted, and spoke about academic integrity and related areas. Iryna Ihnatovych, Head of the Scientific Bibliography Sector, shared experience in creating authority files for Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute faculty members and preparing bibliographic indexes, as well as developing subject-oriented electronic collections. All these areas of work are important for enhancing the university's visibility in the online environment. Other heads of sectors within the Information Support of Education and Research Department also joined the discussion, including Stella Tymoshenko (ELAKPI) and Mariia Fedorets (publication support).
The event provided a platform for exchanging practical experience and developing shared approaches to transforming library services in response to growing demands for open science support and university research infrastructure.
