🏃➡️ The NewRun Marathon is a large-scale charity sporting event that brings together runners, sports enthusiasts, and all supporters of an active lifestyle. This year, participants supported an important cause—raising 5 million hryvnias for prosthetics for veterans.
🤝 Representatives of the KPI Run Club—the running community of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute—also joined the race.
🤩 Congratulations to our athletes on their results:
🔹 42 km — Yuriy Gordienko, lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Computing Technology (FCSCT):
🥉 3rd place in the 60–69 age group and 141st place overall.
🔹 21 km — Stanislav Kukhar, student at the Faculty of Robotics and Instrument Engineering (FRIE): 64th place in the age category and 332nd place overall.
🔹 10 km — Serhii Voitko, lecturer at the Faculty of Management and Marketing (FMM):
🥈 2nd place in the age category and 140th place overall.
🔹 5 km — Kateryna Shevchuk, student at the E.O. Paton Institute of Materials Science and Welding (NII MSW): 56th place in her age group and 414th place overall.
🔹 10 km — Ivan Vakulenko, a student at the Faculty of Electronics (FEL): 77th place in his age group and 391st place overall.
👌 KPI students supported the event not only on the race courses but also as part of the volunteer team. Denis Lugin, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Power Engineering and Automation (FEA) and one of the active contributors to the development of the KPI Run Club, volunteered for the race.
The KPI Run Club is a project of the Social and Psychological Support Division of the Student Development Department at Igor Sikorsky KPI. Several times a week, club members organize amateur runs across the university campus and throughout Kyiv, fostering a culture of regular running, an active community, and mutual support at KPI.
