Today marks the fourth anniversary of the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. We remember February 24, 2022, and those thanks to whom Ukraine stood firm then and continues the fight today.

On this day, we want to tell you about a special book gift that recently arrived at the Library. It is a Ukrainian edition of Erwin Rommel’s classic military work *Infantry on the Offensive*, dedicated to Oleg Aksyonenko (call sign “Dubok”)—a captain in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. He was killed in January 2025 in the Luhansk region.

We received this edition as a gift from Oleg’s parents, with the inscription: “For the youth of KPI. Read, and remember those who died or went missing in action. My son wrote in his book, ‘Life may be short, but it must be bright.’”

We sincerely thank the Aksyonenko family for their trust and remembrance, as well as Andriy Gavrushkevych, Assistant to the Rector for Veterans’ Affairs and Associate Professor at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, for his assistance in delivering the book.

We remember.
