The adoption of the Regulations on the system for preventing plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” is an extremely important and timely step towards forming a genuine culture of academic integrity within the university.

This document not only establishes clear rules and algorithms for action, but also demonstrates KPI's principled position on the inadmissibility of any manifestations of academic misconduct. Its adoption shows that the university is consistently implementing modern standards of the educational process that comply with European and international practices and creating a transparent, honest, and fair academic environment where every student and researcher can be confident in the value of their work.

The significance of this document goes far beyond the simple regulation of internal procedures. It is about forming a comprehensive system of values in which honesty, responsibility, and respect for intellectual work become integral components of the educational and scientific processes. The adopted Regulations create clear and understandable mechanisms for preventing plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of research results. This avoids subjectivity and ambiguity in the interpretation of cases of misconduct, ensuring a level playing field for all members of the university community – students, graduate students, teachers, and researchers.

At the same time, the Regulations have an important preventive component. They are focused not only on punishment for violations, but above all on the prevention of misconduct. The university is actively working to foster a conscious attitude toward copyright and ethical standards in academic activity among students. Students and teachers are introduced to the principles of honest citation, proper formatting of sources, and responsible use of other people's ideas and results. In addition, KPI has implemented modern systems for checking scientific and educational texts for plagiarism. This is not a formality, but an effective tool that helps maintain the high quality of the educational process and ensures that each work has its own intellectual value.

The development and adoption of this document can be seen as a strategic decision that directly affects the university's reputation. KPI not only demonstrates its commitment to high standards of honesty and transparency, but also positions itself as a modern institution that strives to comply with the best international practices. This increases the university's competitiveness both nationally and internationally, strengthening confidence in the diplomas, scientific publications, and research results of its students and faculty.

The consistent implementation of this system for preventing academic misconduct at KPI will help create an environment in which intellectual achievements have real value, and honesty and responsibility become the foundation for the development of science and education. This is not just a step towards improving internal procedures – it is an investment in the future: a future in which every graduate of Igor Sikorsky KPI will proudly hold a diploma that symbolizes not only the knowledge they have acquired, but also the high moral standards upheld by the university.
