In these May days, the whole of Ukraine, together with the world community, honors the memory of those who died in World War II - millions of people who gave their lives in the fight against Nazism. Among them are representatives of Kyiv Polytechnic: teachers, researchers, students and graduates who fought at the fronts, worked in the rear, created defense technologies, and brought victory closer with their knowledge and actions.

As a sign of honor and gratitude, KPI students laid flowers at the Monument to the teachers, staff and students of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute who gave their lives during the Second World War.

Today, when the struggle for the future of Ukraine is once again underway, we bow our heads low to all Kyiv Polytechnicians who joined the Armed Forces and paid the highest price for our independence in the current war.

Each name on the memorial plaques of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is a reminder of the price of freedom. And as long as the memory lives in our hearts, the struggle for a world where “never again” becomes a reality continues.
